Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 24, 2026
TrendPeek ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit trendpeek.org. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the site.
1. Information We Collect
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit TrendPeek, we automatically collect certain technical information through Vercel Analytics, including:
- Pages viewed and the trending topics you explore
- Referring URLs and search queries that brought you to the site
- Browser type, operating system, and device type
- Approximate geographic location (country/region level)
- Date and time of your visit and session duration
This data is collected in an aggregated, anonymized form and is used solely to understand how visitors interact with TrendPeek so we can improve the experience.
Information You Provide Voluntarily
TrendPeek does not currently require account registration or collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name or email address through the site itself. If you contact us via email, we will retain that correspondence to respond to your inquiry.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and continuously improve TrendPeek
- Understand which trending topics generate the most interest
- Monitor site performance, uptime, and reliability
- Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive traffic
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
TrendPeek uses minimal tracking technologies. Specifically:
- Vercel Analytics — a privacy-friendly analytics solution that does not use cookies or fingerprinting. It collects anonymized page view data without tracking individual users across sessions.
- Next.js / Vercel infrastructure cookies — essential technical cookies required to serve the site correctly (e.g., routing). These cannot be disabled without breaking site functionality.
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or third-party marketing scripts.
4. Third-Party Services
TrendPeek integrates with the following third-party services to deliver its functionality. Each service has its own privacy policy:
When you access external news links from our site, you will be subject to the privacy policies of those external publishers. TrendPeek is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites.
5. Data Retention
Aggregated analytics data is retained for up to 12 months to identify usage trends over time. Trend content stored in our Firebase database is retained as long as it is editorially relevant; older entries may be deleted or archived periodically. If you contact us by email, we retain your message for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter.
6. Children's Privacy
TrendPeek is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access — request a copy of the information we hold about you
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal data
- Objection — object to certain processing activities
- Portability — request transfer of your data in a structured format
Because TrendPeek collects no personally identifiable information by default, most of these rights are satisfied automatically. If you have a specific concern, please contact us using the details below.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include HTTPS encryption for all traffic, Firebase security rules restricting database access, and Vercel's infrastructure-level security controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information. Continued use of TrendPeek after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
